Happy Shopping Tips Print E-mail
Amsterdam Shopping

1. Get some nice gifts for yourself without spending extra. Why make gift-giving all about others? You deserve something too! Perfume gift sets that come with bags and other add-ons make an ideal dubble gift. Give the fragrances away and keep the bonus gifts yourself. Some nice presents for you without spending more!

2.
If you have ample time to shop, you could visit different stores to compare prices before you buy.

3. Make use of seasonal and Christmas sales.

4.
Check your gifts over before you buy them to make sure there are no holes, stains or cracks in your item and/or if everything works.

5.
It’s always useful to check the price of an item before going to the counter to pay for your purchase to prevent missunderstandings.

6.
If you are buying clothes at the end of the season, buy timeless items and/or buy them a bit bigger so they will still fit next year.

7.
Shop at stores with good quality and prices. Some stores are known for that.

8. Think of what you want ahead of time, so you don’t waste time nor money.

9. Walk properly. Yes, there is a proper technique! Keep your chin up and your shoulders back. Make sure that you divide the weight of your shopping over both arms. Walk so that the heel of your foot touches the ground first and then roll your weight forward.

Happy Feet
- The foot is the part of the body that takes most of the heaviest hits, bumps, start/stop, up/down and they have to hold you and your shopping load up all day…everyday. Take care of them. Buy shoes that fit. Give them a little extra attention. Even in winter when no one can see them, still make them look and, most important off all, feel good. Perhaps a Chinese foot massage?

Did You Know?
- Tax free shopping for international visitors. For visitors from outside the EU it is possible to get a refund for the VAT (BTW in Dutch) paid on products bought in the Netherlands. The percentage of BTW that is paid over goods is 19%. It is possible to get a refund if the  products are bought for personal use and if they are declared to Customs when leaving the EU.
